Extra TRF Application Flow Chart
Service Scope:
Extra TRFs CAN be sent to:
(1 original copy for each receiving body) |
Extra TRFs CANNOT be sent to: |
- Academic institutions, professional organisations and government departments in and outside China
(Remark: For candidates requesting to send extra TRFs to domestic addresses, original supporting documents should be presented to justify the request. IELTS TRF will only be sent when justified.)
- Embassies and consulates (except the British and the Australian Embassy/Consulate)
- The Skilled Processing Centre in Adelaide (ASPC)

- Non-governmental immigration agencies or agents
- Companies or individuals
- The General Medical Council, UK
- The Visa Section of the British/Australian Embassies/Consulates-General
- The Offshore Processing Centre in Adelaide (AOPC)

Remark: The IELTS test result is valid for 2 years after the test date and we will not provide extra TRF service beyond the period of validity. |
Application Methods and Service Fees:

- For candidates sitting the IELTS test in China, you can apply for up to 5 extra TRFs when you register on the IELTS on-line registration website http://ielts.etest.edu.cn without any additional service fees. You can log on to the registration website to add, change or cancel the extra TRF for receiving institutions.
- For candidates sitting the IELTS test in Mongolia, you can apply for up to 5 extra TRFs when you fill in your application form without any service fees. Please contact us for any changes to your application by E-mail.
- We will send out the extra TRF within 15 working days after the test via international air mail or electronic data transmission.

- You can apply for extra TRFs on this website and the service fee is:
- RMB60 per copy for candidates sitting the IELTS test in China
- USD9 per copy for candidates sitting the IELTS test in Mongolia
- There is no restriction on extra TRF quantities if you wish to send them by air mail or express courier; however, you can only apply for up to 5 extra TRFs if you wish to send them via electronic data transmission.
- We will send out the extra TRF within 5 working days upon receiving the on-line application form and service fees(no earlier than the candidate’s TRF issuance date).

- E-TRF
Candidates can apply to send their extra TRF via electronic data transmission to receiving organisations subscribed to the E-TRF service (pleaser refer to the List of Electronic TRF Recognising Organizations). Regarding the way how your electronic TRF is received, please visit the IELTS global website http://www.ielts.org/institutions/download_test_results.aspx
- International Air Mail
If candidates choose to send their extra TRFs by international air mail, we will pay the postage.
- DHL or EMS Express Courier Service
If candidates wish to send their extra TRFs by DHL or EMS express courier service, please pay the courier service costs in the below table

- The above DHL/EMS fee is for shipments 500g or below with price rounded up or down to the nearest whole number
- DHL fee includes fuel surcharge. This will be updated by every 6 months to reflect the change of fuel surcharge rate publicized by DHL. Therefore the DHL fee quoted may be slightly different from the public rate.
- EMS fee includes packaging and customs clearance surcharge
- For candidates sitting the IELTS test in China, please submit the payment in RMB. Payment in USD only applies to candidates sitting the IELTS test in Mongolia.

Please pay the exact amount of service fees before filling in the on-line extra TRF application form.
- For candidates sitting the IELTS test in China, please submit the payment either by postal remittance or by paying cash in our office. Please do not enclose cash in your application. The East China Test Region only accepts postal remittance.
- For candidates sitting the IELTS test in Mongolia, please pay cash in ESPF (Mongolian test centre)
- When you go to your local post office, please use the normal postal remittance service and write the candidate name, candidate number and purpose of payment in the remark column on the remittance form. The required fees should be remitted to:

To cancel Extra TRF sending application and apply refund
- If candidates wish to cancel the extra TRF sending application after making the payment, please download the (Extra TRF Refund) Form within 5 working days and send to the above email address
- Upon receiving your refund application, we will check whether your extra TRF has been sent out or not. If not, we will make the refund to you via postal remittance one month later. If yes, we will not be able to process your refund application
